How the CRS score works
The score has four parts: core factors (age, education, language and, under the current rules, Canadian work experience), your spouse’s factors if they’re coming with you, skill transferability (combinations of education, language and work, up to 100), and additional points (up to 600, mostly from a provincial nomination). IRCC ranks every profile in the pool and invites the highest scores in each draw.

Questions people ask
+What is a good CRS score?
It depends on which draws you qualify for. See the cutoffs beside your result: general and Canadian Experience Class draws usually need a higher score than category draws, and a provincial nomination adds 600 points.
+What changes in the CRS on November 3, 2026?
Canadian work experience moves into a new Labour Market Integration factor. On top of the usual points for years worked, 12 months in an IRCC high-wage occupation adds 20, 40 or 70 points. A valid job offer in a high-wage occupation earns 50, 70 or 100 points and no longer needs an LMIA. You get the higher of the two, not both.
+Do job offers give CRS points?
Not until November 3, 2026: IRCC removed job offer points in March 2025. From November 3, 2026 a job offer in a high-wage occupation earns up to 100 points.
+How are language scores converted?
Each test score converts to a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level for English or NCLC for French, using IRCC’s equivalency charts. The CLB calculator shows the conversion for each ability.
+Is this the official CRS tool?
No. It follows IRCC’s published criteria and we check it against them, but your score in your Express Entry profile is the one that counts. This is not immigration advice.
