Express Entry high-wage occupations list

From November 3, 2026, Canadian work and job offers in these 186 occupations earn extra CRS points. An occupation counts if its median wage across Canada is at least 1.3 times the national average median wage; it depends on the NOC code, not your own salary.

How to use it

Find your NOC code (the five-digit code for your job in Canada’s National Occupational Classification) and check its level, then add it in the CRS calculator with the November 2026 rules. You need at least 12 months of qualifying Canadian work in high-wage occupations, full-time or the same amount part-time; it can be spread across jobs at the same level or higher.

Source: IRCC, High-wage occupations and how we assess them. The list is based on 2023–2025 wage data.

Questions people ask

+How many points does a high-wage occupation give?

12 months of qualifying Canadian work in a level 1 occupation (2× the average median wage) adds 70 points, level 2 (1.5×) adds 40 and level 3 (1.3×) adds 20, on top of the usual points for years of Canadian work. A job offer earns 100, 70 or 50. You get whichever is higher, not both.

+How many occupations are on the list?

186: 31 at level 1, 89 at level 2 and 66 at level 3.

+Does my salary matter?

No. The level comes from the median wage of everyone in Canada working under your NOC code, from Job Bank, Labour Force Survey and Census data over the last three years.

+What if the list changes after I’m invited?

IRCC keeps the level that applied on the day you were invited to apply.

+Do I still need an LMIA for a job offer?

Not from November 3, 2026. A valid job offer no longer needs a Labour Market Impact Assessment, and having one gives no extra points. An officer checks that the offer is genuine when you apply.
