IRCC CRS tool alternatives

IRCC’s “Check your score” tool is the official CRS calculator. On October 29, 2026 its page announced the November 3, 2026 changes, but its questions still asked for a job offer “supported by an LMIA” and had no question about high-wage occupations. If you want to see your score under the new rules before IRCC updates it, these are the other calculators, with what each one’s own page says.

Why look past the official tool right now

From November 3, 2026, IRCC moves Canadian work experience into a new Labour Market Integration factor worth up to 150 points: the usual years-of-work points plus up to 70 for 12 months in a high-wage occupation, or a job offer worth 50, 70 or 100 points, whichever is higher. A job offer no longer needs an LMIA.

IRCC’s own changes page says the online system hasn’t been updated yet: until it is, candidates with a job offer are told to pick “positive LMIA” and enter placeholder values. A calculator that only knows the old questions can’t show what those points do to your score.

Who should stick with IRCC’s tool

  • Everyone, before submitting a profile. IRCC’s tool is the reference: its disclaimer says that if the tool and the Express Entry system differ, the system’s result counts.
  • French speakers. IRCC’s tool is in English and French; this site is English only.
  • Anyone whose score doesn’t touch the new factor. With no Canadian work and no job offer, the November changes don’t move your score, so the official tool already gives the right number.

Who each alternative suits

  • Express Entry Draws: you want both rule sets side by side, the high-wage list built in, and the latest cutoff of each program next to your score, without giving an email address.
  • Moving2Canada: you also want a community and an optional paid consultation with a regulated consultant, and don’t mind filling in a form for your result.
  • CRS Calculate: you want a consultant to review your profile; its calculator follows the rules in force until November 2, 2026.
  • Lighthouse Immigration Law: you’re likely to hire a lawyer and want the firm’s FSW and Ontario PNP calculators in the same place.

Express Entry Draws is not affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada, and this page is not immigration or legal advice. Your official score is the one in your Express Entry profile.

Questions people ask

+Is IRCC’s CRS calculator updated for November 2026?

Not when we checked on October 29, 2026. The page announces the November 3, 2026 changes, but the questions still ask for an LMIA-supported job offer and its NOC TEER category, with no high-wage occupation question. Check the page again after November 3, 2026.

+Which CRS calculator is the most accurate?

The score in your Express Entry profile is the only official one. Any calculator, including ours and IRCC’s, is an estimate from your answers. Ours is tested against totals worked out by hand from IRCC’s tables, and matched IRCC’s own tool on the profiles we compared.

+Do I need an LMIA for job offer points after November 3, 2026?

No. IRCC says an LMIA is no longer needed for program eligibility or CRS points, and having one gives no extra points. The job must be in a high-wage occupation to earn points.
